SURGE GENERATOR RANGE
Electricity supply or distribution companies often find that buried power cables become faulty due to ageing or damage. Because energy cables are normally not supplied in lengths much longer than 300m, inevitably many joints are installed and buried. They are often the cause for cable faults which render the cable useless until repaired and put back into service. Surge generators are used in conjunction with pre-location and pinpoint location equipment to precisely locate the position of cable faults.

MODSUR Surge Generator Range
As cable maintenance becomes ever more challenging, test engineers require more sophisticated methods to easily and accurately pinpoint the position of cable faults. As standard, the Modsur surge generator comes equipped with an ICE signal output to connect to any cable fault location TDR for fault pre-location. The Modsur forms part of our flexible, configurable Modsys fault location system offering endless possibilities. By coupling the Modsur to our latest PCA101 and Modarc systems, you can accurately pre-locate fault positions using the well known ICE method. Our MCLS (Mains Condition Lockout System) ensures proper and safe earthing connection. The MCLS system also ensures the quality of the mains power source.
