CI200
CABLE IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM
Power cable jointing technicians are often faced with the problem of having to cut into existing live cables in order to expand their existing networks. The CI200 was designed to facilitate the positive identification of one disconnected power cable from a bundle. It will, when used correctly positively and safely identify one specific cable. It is very simple to operate and will give perfect results time after time.
The CI200TX generates a DC Pulse of 50V at about 200A. The signal is transmitted into the cable by directly connecting it to one of the cores on the cable to be identified. The far end of the cable should be connected to earth. The received signal is then picked up by the flexible current clamp and its signal strength displayed through the analog meter on the panel.
The application of the instrument is very simple and very low levels of skills are needed for successful, positive cable identification.
